Airport Integration Test Lab 8th Anniversary. In celebration of the 8th anniversary of our one-of-a-kind AITL, VTC recognizes and thanks our inaugural CBIS Test Bed participants and those who have since relied on the AITL to explore opportunities to revolutionize airport baggage handling and automated inspection.

  • VTC is granted its Interstate DBE Certification in the State of Tennessee by the Memphis Shelby Country Airport Authority.
  • VTC is granted its Interstate DBE and SBC (Small Business Concern) Certifications in the State of Arizona by the Arizona Department of Transportation.
    • VTC is granted its Interstate DBE Certification in the State of Hawaii by the Hawaii Department of Transportation.
  • VTC is granted its Interstate DBE Certification in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts by the Massachusetts Supplier Diversity Office.

August 2016

    • VTC receives its Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) Home State Certification from the North Central Texas Regional Certification Agency (NCTRCA).  NCTRCA also certifies VTC as a Woman-owned Business Enterprise (WBE) and a Small Business Enterprise (SBE) in the State of Texas.
  • VTC is granted its SBE (Proprietary) Certification by the City of Los Angeles Proprietary Departments serving LAWA, Harbor and DWP.

July 2016
VTC is granted its WBE Certification by the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey.

April 2016

    • VTC is granted its WBE Certification by the Women’s Business Development Council of Florida.
  • VTC is granted its WBE Certification by the City of Philadelphia.

August 2015

    • VTC is granted its M/WBE Certification by the Greater Orlando Aviation Authority (GOAA).
  • VTC is granted its SBE/WBE Certification from the South Central Texas Regional Certification Agency.

May 2015
VTC becomes the First Certified Women’s Business Enterprise in Baggage Handling Design.
VTC announces that it secured WBE status in Late May 2015.  The Women’s Business Council-Southwest also grants VTC its SBE Certification for the Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport’s Business Diversity and Development Program.

VTC Enters a New Era as a Woman-Owned Business.  VTC announced a significant shift in ownership, executive leadership and opportunity.  Chris Norton and Robin E. Baughman have purchased the remaining shares of VTC.  Soon to be classified a Women-owned Business Enterprise (WBE), VTC’s certification will open new doors.

VTC along with Moye Consulting hosts D/FW Girls Night Out at La Cima Business Club in Las Colinas, Texas.  This newly formed social club (Jet Fuel Social Club) offers women in the aviation industry an opportunity to meet and share experiences.

Albany County Airport Authority selected VTC to revise Southwest Airlines’ In-line system to integrate a second CT-80 EDS.

  • VTC was selected as part of the Corgan team to provide BHS/FIS Design services for Fort Lauderdale International Airport (FLL) Terminal 1 Renovation and Expansion Project.
    • VTC was selected as part of the Graef team to provide a Checkpoint Feasibility Study for the General Mitchell International Airport (MKE).

August 2014

  • Landrum & Brown, Incorporated selected VTC to evaluate & update CBIS/BHS system programmatic requirements related to Kansas City International Airport’s (MCI) Terminal Development Program.
  • Southwest Airlines selects VTC to perform Makeup Unit Analysis at William P. Hobby Airport (HOU), Denver International Airport (DEN) and Orlando International Airport (MCO).

July 2014
VTC was engaged to assist with the planning and solution definition for all baggage transport systems including EBS across all planned and interconnected terminals for a new major international airport.

VTC was selected as part of the Parsons Brinkerhoff team to provide Construction Management & Inspection Services for the Baltimore /Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport (BWI) D/E Connector.

October 2013

  • VTC was selected by AECOM to provide pre-design through 30% design for the CBIS Recapitalization & Optimization for Philadelphia International Airport (PHL) Concourse A-West.
  • VTC was selected as part of the Landrum & Brown team to provide On-Call Design Services for Cleveland Hopkins International Airport (CLE) and Cleveland Burke Lakefront Airport (BKL).

October 2011 
Leading providers and stakeholders in airport security gathered to celebrate the opening of VTC’s Airport Integration Test Lab in our Arlington, Texas headquarters facility. The Airport Integration Test Lab is the latest R&D program undertaken by VTC and will house operationally realistic environments for testing across the spectrum of transportation security. The event highlighted the inaugural operation of the CBIS Test Bed. Designed and built by VTC, the CBIS Test Bed is the culmination of 12 months of commitment and collaboration with 23 leading industry OEMs and system integrators. A Passenger Screening Test Bed is planned for completion early 2012.

VTC, in association with the IABSC, invited over 750 industry leaders from the Airlines, Airports, Consultants, and OEMs to participate in the inauguration of the industry’s first CBIS Test Bed at VTC’s Airport Integration Test Lab.
